Privacy Policy

How we handle reader enquiries and personal information.

Effective date: 27 October 2026

Who we are

Gaura Govinda Publishing, based in Rādhā Kuṇḍa, India, is responsible for personal information handled through gauragovindagutika.com and our related correspondence. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it and how to contact us.

For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email syamesvarii@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request”.

Information you provide

Our publication enquiry form asks for your name, email address, optional WhatsApp number, edition language, enquiry subject and message, together with your agreement to use the details to respond. Your message may include the book, number of copies and delivery country relevant to your enquiry.

We also receive information you send directly by email. If you arrange a purchase directly with us, further details may be needed, such as your delivery address, order details and payment confirmation.

Please provide only information needed for your enquiry. Do not submit identity documents, full card details, banking passwords, one-time passwords or unnecessary sensitive information. You do not need to state your religion or beliefs to enquire about a book.

Technical information

Our website and service providers may process IP addresses, browser and device details, requested pages, referring pages, timestamps and error or security information to deliver the website, operate forms and protect against abuse. Form records may also include submission and consent information.

If you use an account or shopping function, relevant account and transaction information may be processed for that function. For cash-on-pickup orders, WooCommerce stores the contact and billing details you enter, the books and quantities ordered, the order total and the pickup method so we can process your order.

How we use information

We use relevant information to answer enquiries, explain publication availability and editions, arrange a purchase or delivery you request, maintain necessary correspondence, investigate complaints, protect the website and meet legal obligations.

An ordinary book enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Optional publication updates require a separate request or other lawful permission, and you can ask us to stop them.

Where consent is required, we request it for the particular purpose. We may also process information where applicable law permits it, such as fulfilling a requested transaction or meeting a legal obligation. Browsing the website is not blanket consent to unrelated processing.

Enquiry storage and email

Submitted enquiries are stored in the website’s WordPress administration system through our custom enquiry system. The form is configured to send a notification to syamesvarii@gmail.com. Authorised people handling reader enquiries can access the relevant records and correspondence.

Enquiry notifications are sent through Spacemail to the configured Gmail inbox. Order confirmations and replies are processed by the website and email services involved. Copies can exist in the website database, relevant mailboxes and backups. We do not publish private enquiries without separate permission.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information or supply enquiry lists to unrelated organisations for their marketing.

Relevant information may be processed by providers supporting hosting, email, maintenance, security and backups, as needed to provide their services. If you arrange a purchase, the seller, delivery provider and payment provider may receive the information needed to fulfil it. We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to establish or defend legal rights.

The website loads Google Fonts for its typefaces and a Hostinger Reach service script. Loading these resources involves requests to those providers and can disclose technical information such as your IP address and browser details. An enquiry is not, by itself, a request for a Hostinger Reach mailing-list subscription.

Cookies and third-party websites

WordPress and WooCommerce may use cookies or similar storage for login, security, preferences and shopping sessions when those functions are used. Third-party services loaded by the site may also process device or usage information under their own privacy practices.

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser. Blocking essential cookies may affect some functions. Browser controls do not replace any consent choice we are required by law to provide.

If we introduce optional analytics, advertising or embedded media requiring consent, we will provide the relevant information and choice before activation. Independent retailer sites, including Amazon where linked, operate under their own privacy and cookie policies. They receive your visit when you follow their links.

International processing

We operate from India. Hosting, email and other service providers may process information in other countries. Applicable legal restrictions and safeguards govern international transfers. The privacy practices of independent retailers apply to information you provide directly to them.

How long information is kept

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry or service you requested, maintain relevant records and meet legal, accounting, security or dispute-resolution requirements. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, subject to lawful retention requirements.

Retention can differ between enquiry records, email correspondence, transaction records, security logs and backups. A deletion request may not remove information that must be retained by law. Backup copies may remain until their normal replacement cycle. You may ask us about the retention of your specific records.

Security

We use reasonable organisational and technical measures appropriate to the information we handle, including controls on administrative access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We will assess personal information incidents and make notifications where required by applicable law.

Your choices and requests

You may email syamesvarii@gmail.com to ask about your information, request correction or deletion, withdraw consent where processing depends on it, stop optional updates or raise a privacy complaint. Please identify the email address used for the original enquiry. We may request only the verification reasonably necessary to protect your information.

We handle requests according to the rights and requirements applicable at the time and explain relevant exceptions. Withdrawing consent does not undo earlier lawful processing or require deletion of records we must lawfully retain. It may prevent us from completing a requested service where the information is necessary.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law. You retain any right to approach a competent authority or use other available remedies.

Children

Our enquiry and purchasing arrangements are intended for adults. Readers under 18 should ask a parent or lawful guardian to contact us on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect children’s information through these arrangements without any consent required by law. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided information so that we can assess it and take appropriate action.

Policy updates

We may update this policy when services or legal obligations change and will show the revised effective date above. Where a new purpose requires further notice or consent, we will provide it; posting an updated policy alone does not obtain that consent.

Please also read our Terms and Conditions.
